Sid Woodruff

Senior Pastor

Born in Waco, Texas, I developed a taste for Dr. Pepper and a love for the Baylor Bears at an early age. Two of my favorite and most memorable childhood Christmas presents are the green and gold football uniform I received when I was 5 years old, and the Ludwig drum set my parents presented to me when I was 14. Following High School graduation in Houston, Texas, I went on to letter in football for Baylor University. But by far, the best thing that ever happened to me is when Jesus Christ saved me from my sins.

Although I took Christ as my Savior at age 14, I did not begin growing as a Christian until my sophomore year in college. That’s when I realized, many of the things I had been pursuing up to that point were not fully satisfying, that only Jesus Christ is worthy to be the Lord of my life, that only Christ can fully satisfy the deepest longings of my heart.

While a student at Baylor, I started reading the Bible and praying daily and sensed God’s call on my life. I made myself available to the Lord and He has been working in and through me ever since then. After college graduation, I attended seminary. During those years and the years that have followed, I have been a banking officer, a salesman, and I have served churches in a variety of ministry positions, including Senior Pastor. For 11 years, I also served as the Men’s and Deacon Ministry Specialist for Lifeway Christian Resources.

My wife, Julie, and I have two married adult children, who, along with their spouses, have given us six amazing grandchildren. Besides loving the Lord and my family (and playing golf), my greatest joy is making disciples (learners) of Christ who make other disciples of Christ.
