“Love One Another”

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15

 
“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another” (Jn. 13:34-35, CSB

 

We need to have a right attitude toward the leaders God puts over us (1 Thess. 5:12-13).
We need to have a right attitude toward the believers God puts around us (1 Thess. 5:14-15).
 
“And we exhort you, brothers and sisters: warn those who are idle, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all (1 Thess. 5:14-15, CSB).
 
1. Warn those who are idle (v. 14a).
“Admonish the unruly” (NAS).
 
2. Comfort the discouraged (v. 14b).
“Encourage the fainthearted” (NAS).
 
3. Hold up the weak (v. 14c).
“Help the weak” (CSB).
 
4. Be patient with everyone (v. 14d).
 
“See to it that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all” (1 Thess. 5:15, CSB).
 
· Don’t seek revenge (v. 15a).
· Be kind to everyone (v. 15b).
